Holiday Cottage in Ravenglass, Cumbria
Whent Cottage is situated in a terrace on the main street in Ravenglass in Cumbria. It has a small front garden with roses and shrubs growing and space for a small car to park.
This is a delightful holiday cottage based in Ravenglass and is a traditionally designed Cumbrian cottage, the main part built of stone with a slate roof, and the cottage can sleep up to four persons. Throughout Whent Cottage, there are photos of the Lake District and there is artwork from a local artist in the living room. The holiday cottage is heated by electric radiators and other appliances that guests can use as required. Whent Cottage, Cumbria has WIFI access, is non-smoking and does not accommodate pets.
There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. On arrival at Whent Cottage, guests enter straight into the living room. This is a cosy space with an old world feel about it, furnished with a comfy sofa and two armchairs, arranged around a wood-burner effect electric fire. There is a wall-mounted TV with Freeview. There are plenty of books to keep you interested here too.
Moving through to the back of Whent Cottage, there is a stone-flagged dining room with an oak dining set, with a view to the small rear yard, boasting fuchsias and other pretty flowers blooming at certain times of the year. Adjoining the dining room is a pantry with microwave and freezer.
Also adjoining the dining room, is the typical cottage kitchen which boasts modern fittings, with Chippendale manufactured cupboards, granite worktops, and is well-equipped with a double fan oven, ceramic hobs, a dishwasher, fridge and an extensive assortment of crockery and cookware. The kitchen is tiled with porcelain tiles.
The bathroom is situated at the back of Whent Cottage on the ground floor, with a lobby connecting the kitchen and the bathroom. The bathroom has a white suite with a shower unit over the bath. The bathroom floor is tiled with porcelain tiles and there is underfloor heating available if required as well as the heated towel rail.
In the lobby at Whent Cottage is a washer/dryer, which is available for guests’ use, with a drying rack above. The lobby floor is tiled with porcelain tiles and there is underfloor heating available if required.
Adjoining the dining room at Whent Cottage, there is a cupboard under the stairs, where the water heater is situated, as well as an ironing board, iron, a step ladder, brooms, and sundry items.
Upstairs at the holiday Cottage are two comfortable bedrooms, furnished with oak furniture. The master bedroom is situated at the rear, has a double bed with a large wardrobe, decorative fireplace, and an electric shower in an enclosure in the bedroom. The twin bedded room situated at the front has a large wardrobe, decorative fireplace, and a chest of drawers. There is also a cot and a highchair for infants stored in this room. Both bedrooms have William Morris design curtains hanging.
Outside at the back of Whent Cottage is a small yard with shrubs and plants growing in flower beds and pots. There is an outhouse here with a WC and small washbasin that can be used throughout the year other than in the winter months.
There is parking space at the holiday Cottage for one small car in the front garden so you can enjoy Ravenglass, Cumbria at your leisure. There is a public car park a few minutes’ walk away, reached by a lane beside the nearby Pennington Hotel, suitable for parking larger or second cars. There is a fee payable for using the public car park.
